In the book of Lamentations, Jeremiah expresses the pain of the fall of Jerusalem.
Lamentations 3:19-24, Remember my affliction and my wanderings, the wormwood and the gall! My soul continually remembers it and is bowed down within me. But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”
In the midst of our own trials, adversities, and struggles do we remember the steadfast love of the Lord? Do we remember his mercies? Do we remember His faithfulness to us? It should give us great hope as we ponder these things and focus our attention on the steadfast love, mercy, and faithfulness of the Lord.
Be encouraged this day. No matter what you are facing God is faithful. He is merciful. His steadfast love never ceases. We rejoice, and we have hope because of our identity as the people of God. We have been redeemed. Yes, life is not always what we plan. It has great ups and downs and curves. It can be difficult. Some days it is hard to just get up out of bed and get going.
Hope in the Lord. He is your portion. He is your God. Hope in the Lord!
